HUMANE, EFFECTIVE DOG TRAINING & BEHAVIOR CONSULTATION
Torie Silletto, CTC, PCBC-A, CPDT-KA
As a lifelong animal welfare advocate, I never have and never will use pain or fear to make a dog behave. It has been unequivocally proven by decades of research that dogs who enjoy training behave better.

As a staff member of the San Francisco SPCA Behavior & Training team, I worked extensively with the most challenging shelter dogs. I also specialized in enrichment and welfare, puppy socialization, and taught ongoing classes for staff and volunteers. I further honed my skills at the East Bay SPCA where I taught public dog training classes.

Dogs today are our dearly beloved family members. I am passionate about providing them the highest quality care available. In addition to 10 years of firsthand experience, I’ve accomplished the following:

I am an honors graduate of The Academy for Dog Trainers, where I earned my Certification in Training and Counseling (CTC). The Academy is an advanced two year course of study that is highly regarded as the "Harvard for dog trainers."
Professional Canine Behavior Consultant (Accredited). The Pet Professional Accreditation Board is the only independent certifying body that explicitly prohibits the use of pain, fear and force.
Member of Pet Professional Guild and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants

Dog training is unregulated in the United States. This means absolutely anyone can hang up a shingle and charge for their services.

I entered the field because I passionately opposed the barbaric animal abuse being sold to the public as training. I was also sorely disappointed with the lack of knowledge and competency required to do business. As a result, I invested in the most comprehensive education available, and gained hands-on work experience training dogs in shelter. I've earned multiple independent certifications, which require 300 hours of professional experience, and passing extensive knowledge evaluation.

I develop a relationship with my clients based on transparency and trust. I truly want what is best for you and your dog, and I am committed to ethical business practices. Please take a moment to watch this short video:
